Use Oregano Oil as an Antifungal

The success of using Oregano Oil an an Antifungal treatment is one of the reasons Oregano Oil has become so  popular.  The presence of a fungal infection is usually a sign of ill-health. To regain good health, you need to  eliminate the fungus.  Normally killing a fungal infection is very difficult.  Use Oregano Oil as an antifungal treatment and with regular ingestion of Oregano Oil you can achieve this.

Apply Oregano Oil directly to the nail twice a day

There are many studies confirming the effectiveness of oil of oregano in eliminating many types of fungi.  Oregano Oil has the ability to treat yeast and fungal infections. There is a lot of scientific research to back this up.

How does Oregano Oil help with Candida?

Since fungi thrive on diseased tissue, the presence of a fungal or yeast infection is a sign of bad health.  In a strong, healthy body it would be hard for a fungal or yeast infection to take hold.  Oregano oil is rich in many vitamins and other nutrients that can enhance the immune system. This is the reason why oil of oregano is efficient in conquering candidiasis. It doesn’t just eliminate the candida fungus but also strengthens the body so that it can combat the infection. This is why Oregano Oil is uses as part of most Candida elimination programs and diets.

External fungal infections

To use Oregano Oil as an antifungal to treat external fungal infections: Put a some oregano oil in a basin of water and soak your feet in it.  You can also use a mixture of 1 drop oil of oregano to 1 ounce of carrier oil such as coconut oil which is also an antifungal. Apply the mix to nails, scalp, skin or wherever the fungal infection appears. Because the oil is so potent, ask your doctor before using oil of oregano on the skin, especially near the genital area for problems such as jock itch, yeast infections or diaper rash.

Internal fungal infections

To treat fungal infections internally, add 3 drops in water twice daily and gradually increase this up to 6 drops twice a day.  However, I find it to spicy to do this, so another suggestion is to buy empty gel capsules, put the drops in the capsule and consume the capsule.

Fungi feed on sugar. Just one or two teaspoons a day is enough to encourage fungal growth. So it is important to reduce your sugar intake as well. Other stimulants for fungal growth are: alcohol, drugs, antibiotics, birth control pill and cortisone.

Research

Oregano Oil is a potent anti-fungal and has a unique ability to kill both bacteria and fungi. The US Federal Government tested wild oregano oil hoping to prove that it didn’t work.  In fact, the opposite happened.  It was discovered that oregano oil killed every germ which is was tested against, including molds, salmonella, pseudomonas, E. coli, staph and listeria.

Research published in The Journal of Food Microbiology demonstrated that a 1% solution of Origanum Vulgare essential oil destroyed all nine species of fungi tested.

There was a 2001 study at Georgetown University Medical Centre. “Origanum oil at 0.25 mg/ml was found to completely inhibit the growth of Candida albicans”. Furthermore, the study concluded that “the daily oral administration of origanum oil may be highly effective in the prevention and treatment of candidiasis.”  So, Oil of Oregano is capable of healing candidiasis (a fungal infection). The carvacrol component of Oregano Oil stopped the growth of candida by about 75%. The study also showed that carvacrol was able to do this because of the help of the other components of oreganol. This only shows that the synergistic effects of the substances are more powerful than their individual effects. See the research here. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11855736

Whether the fungal issue is mould in the bathroom, toenail fungus or candida overgrowth, Oregano oil is the answer. So ensure you keep a bottle of Oregano Oil in your medicine cabinet at all times.

Other oils that have powerful antifungal properties are tea tree oil, garlic oil, peppermint oil and clove oil.

My own experience of using Oregano Oil for fungal infections

1- I use Oregano Oil in my Candida Programs.  I have suffered with Candida for years and have done a couple of Candida Diets which always include a good quality Oregano Oil. It now lives in my medicine cabinet as I have found it to be so useful for many other ailments apart from Candida.
